St Mary's Primary School Pomeroy

Academy indoor football tournament

27th Nov 2019

Today our Pomeroy gaels put on a spectacle of Gaelic.  There was no shortage of skills on display as both our boys and girls teams aced their way to the finals.

The girls topped their group to meet a firey Tullysaran in the semis and then went on to beat The Moy in what was quite a battle with no shortage of tense and nail biting moments. These girls took scores to be proud of and excelled as both individuals and team players.  They have dents and bruises from their battles and there was no way they were taking any less than a win.

The boys took the same route to the final again meeting a mighty Moy team.  The boys didn't come out on top after what was described as possibly the match of the season loosing out only after 2 periods of extra time when it had to finally come down to next score wins. These boys showed nothing but pure fight, determination, team spirit and the utmost skill.  The lads were awesome and they can only be very proud of what was a mighty day for them.  We have definitely a fine team for the rest of the school year with great days ahead.

Mrs Daly and Mr Coyle definitely showed quality management skills and will continue to enrich these kids with many days of football with their backroom teams.

The future of The Plunketts is in fine hands!
