Today our boy and girl footballers travelled to Dungannon Academy to take part in their annual football blitz.
Sporting our newly sponsored jerseys, the boys lost their opening game to St. Jarlath’s Blackwatertown but bounced back to claim a draw against Edendork Primary School and suffered a narrow defeat to St. Patrick’s Annaghmore. Unfortunately, our boys day ended at the group stage. The boys showed great determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the day and can be very proud of their efforts.
Our girls, playing against the same opponents, claimed three wins from three to top the group with some excellent football on display. Their hard work, determination and teamwork were evident in every game, with each player supporting one another and giving everything for the team. We were then drawn against a strong St. Mary’s Cabragh side in the quarter-finals and, although battling hard for the full 10 minutes, our girls day ended at this stage.
We are extremely proud of how our boys and girls carried themselves throughout the day. Exciting days ahead!
