In P.1 we have been learning all about the work of the vets and caring for animals. During our playtime we have been using our imagination to play in the veterinary surgery; taking on the role of the vet, the veterinary nurse, the receptionist and the customer. In Numeracy we learnt how to sort for our 2D shapes and objects that are long and short and also make sets of 3 and 4. We have also worked on missing numbers and how to order numbers within 10. In Literacy we have learnt how to write, build and colour the words ‘I’, ‘my’, ‘in’ and ‘and’. We used paint and cotton buds to paint keywords. We have talked about speech bubbles, speech marks and also exclamation marks and we try to find them in our library and reading books.
